I've had a passion for languages since I was a child, which has led me to have amazing life experiences all over the world. While earning my BA in Spanish and Linguistics with High Distinction from the University of Iowa, I took the opportunity to study French, Portuguese, Arabic and Italian. I also fell in love with Spain while studying abroad at the Universidad de Sevilla, and later spent two years as an English teaching assistant in the Spanish towns of Don Benito and Vinaròs, where I became fluent in Spanish and learned a bit of the Valencian language.
My interest in languages then led me to Durham University, one of the most prestigious universities in the United Kingdom, to work on my MA in Translation Studies. This rigorous degree program is part of the European Master's in Translation (EMT) Network, a label given to quality translation programs by the European Commission's Directorate-General for Translation. It prepared me for my professional career with courses related to terminology resources, translation technology, editorial skills, and translation theory, as well as practical experience translating a wide variety of texts (financial, legal, scientific, journalistic, literary, and commercial).
I graduated with Distinction in 2015, and have dedicated myself to starting a successful freelance translation career ever since. I currently specialize in translating legal documents, tourism content, technical texts, websites and blog posts, but I love the variety that comes with translation work and am always happy to tackle new text types.
